Becoming a mother is a life changing experience. It can often be filled with joy and wonder, but can also include anxiety and sadness. Take steps toward postpartum wellness and become a part of a community of women who understand you. This type of community can be hard to find when you first become a mother. The demands of everyday life & juggling multiple responsibilities too often leave women socially isolated and worn out, placing them at risk for physical and emotional illnesses.
This is an ongoing therapy group for pregnant or postpartum women (up to one year post delivery) who are experiencing depression, anxiety, anger, and/or irritability that is interfering with their functioning and adjustment to motherhood. This is not a "mommy & me group" or support group, this is a structured therapy group teaching cognitive behavioral techniques. A minimum of 3-6 sessions are recommended to effectively reduce symptoms.
